In 1985 I was appointed to the Mahogany Run Golf and Tennis Resort on St. Thomas as the General Mananger. Mahogany Run was a luxury 400 Room Condo Resort witha a Fazio designed 18 Hole Golf Course. I conducted a search for a strong AGM with specific skills, Strong F&B - Versitility and Diversity was critical due to the nature of the USVI, Steve was selected over 50 other candidates for the position.. I cannot stress enough what a critical part Steve played in the day to day operation. During the time Steve was my AGM, his personal impact onto the success and growth of the resort was amazing.
Steve and my path would cross again twice years later. The First with Colony Resorts, Steve recommended me to be the GM for two of their properties, one on St. Lucia and the other on St. Kitts and actually relieve his on St. Thomas for a short time. What Steve accomplished with the Point Pleasant Resort was beyond amazing, recovering from Hurricane Marilyn and driving the property to success. Just recently we met again this time Steve worked for Wyndham Vacation Ownership as Director of Standards and Service Excellence and I on the Management team at The Wyndham National Harbor Vacation Resort, outside of Washington D.C.

My team and I worked closely with Steve Townsend for over 10 years. He was a key contact with WorldMark by Trendwest and later, WorldMark by Wyndham.
